Fruity, juicy and sweet! That’s just how I like smoothies. Of course the healthy green smoothies with all sorts of the green veggie stuff have to go in as well, but these sweet ones will always stay the best! As I said sweet and fruity!
This morning I woke up longing for a juice like this one, I needed something sweet but still healthy ;). I knew I kept half of the arils from a pomegranate I used a few days earlier. Pomegranates are so great because you can keep these arils ni the fridge for about a week and even longer in the freezer. Now I just needed to think of something to go with that. I was pondering around for half an hour until I realised there were still frozen raspberries in the freezer. It seems like you always forget what’s in the back of your freezer, at least I do it everytime. Just like last week when I found out there was a huge piece of chicken in the back of my freezer…
While making this juice and setting up the shots I thought it would be fun to get a little movement in here. I have been playing with the idea to create some recipe videos for Have Another Bite but today I started by shooting a short burst of blender shots, then toy around a little bit on the computer and put them together and here it is, the firs (sort of) movie on Have Another Bite.
The raspberry pomegranate smoothie
For this smoothie I don’t want to use any ‘unnatural’ ingredients like sugar. I don’t like cow milk that much anymore so I replaced that with almond milk for this smoothie. Almond milk gives the juice a nice extra taste, to my taste it goes well with the pommegranate and raspberry. Frozen raspberries tend to be a little sour now and then, so to sweeten it just pour a tablespoon of honey in and see if that’s sweet enough for you.
All the ingredients ready to be blended
Alright it’s time to get that blender whizzing because valentine’s day is right ahead, luckily for you you only need about 5 minutes to make this smoothie!
The recipe
- 1 cup (frozen) Raspberry
- 1 cup Pomegranate Arils (or ⅓ cup pomegranate juice)
- ½ cup Almond milk
- 1 tbsp Honey
- ½ cup Ice
- Throw the raspberry, pomegranate arils, almond milk, honey and ice into a blender and whiz it till it's perfectly fine!
