Galia Melon - Cucumber - Mint - smoothie | | #refreshing #melon #healthy

Woohoo, sweet galia melon, cold cucumber and fresh mint! What’s better then to combine all three on a hot summer’s day and twist them into a super refreshing drink!

This week, summer arrived big time here in the Netherlands with temperatures rising above 95°F it’s getting quite hot over here. Yeah, were not really used to this kind of heat :P. The government actually launched some kind of emergency plan due to extreme heat…I say, drink a melon-cucumber-mint smoothie and your good to go!…maybe I should go make them aware of this recipe right now. Sounds like a plan ;)

Galia melon always reminds me of those summer nights back home, when my mother used to wrap juicy slices of melon in slices of dried ham. Sitting in the garden with a cold beer, having dinner with the family, maybe light a little fire when the sun sets. I think we all got those great memories of ‘back then’ :). But that’s just one of the reasons why I l-o-v-e g Galia Melon..and cantaloupes too by the way.
Galia and cantaloupe melons are refreshing, sweet, juicy, low-calorie, low-cholesterol vitamin and mineral bombs from heaven. Its flavor combines perfectly with the freshness of cucumber and mint. I’ll keep this fresh summer recipe update short, that leaves you more time to enjoy this smoothie and the summer sun! So check out the recipe below and go enjoy that refreshing melon smoothie!

Melon Cucumber Mint Smoothie
Prep time
Total time
Melon-Cucumber-Mint smoothie! Refreshing, sweet & healthy, what else?
Recipe type: Smoothie
Serves: 2
  • ½ pound (230gr) Galia Melon (or Cantaloupe)
  • ¼ pound (115gr) Cucumber
  • 15 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (lemon is also fine)
  1. Cut the melon and cucumber in chunks
  2. Add everything together into your blender
  3. Blend it long enough for the mint leaves to get chopped very fine.
You can add water if you don't like the thickness.
Add a little bit of honey if you need more sweetness, but I'm guessing the galia melon has enough sweetness!

  1. Dang! It’s already that hot there?! I can’t believe they launched an emergency warning for the heat haha! I once had a summer where we had 38 consecutive days of heat over 105 degrees! Talk about a hot summer! I wish I would have had this beautiful drink to cool off too! :)

I must say that the title did not make me want to have it, but looking at the pictures and seeing the recipe itself i might actually try this.

Haha it’s an interesting combination right? I had my doubts too when making it, but it turned out well and i’ll be making it more often.

  3. Haha, in Canada, almost all local tv news channels, were talking about that outrageous heat wave in the Netherlands. So, you guys definitely made history:) Even though I hate these sweltering days, I’m ready to suffer a bit. But only in the case I’ll get such a delicious and refreshing smoothie! Indeed, just the perfect combo!
